UMPCs

Whether it's spelled Ultra-Mobile, Ultra Mobile or Ultramobile, an ultra-mobile pc is a small computer that allows you to take your information with you everywhere you go. You can connect and communicate while on the bus, in the car, on the beach or just lounging in the back yard. It's one of the family of write PCs!

Ultra-mobile PCs give you the full power of a PC with the portability you need. You'll find a wide-range of uses with connectivity for exciting new location-specific capabilities with GPS as well as music and gaming.

Ultra-mobile PCs have specific hardware requirements for the user interface, form factor and other controls including:

Integrated touch panel

Input methods:
Touch screen (type or select with a finger)
Stylus (write or select with a pen)
Hardware controls (navigate and select with buttons on the UMPC)

Oher Requirements

Battery life: 2.5 hours or more

Although an Ultra-mobile PC combines the functionality of a portable media player, music player, handheld gaming device, GPS, etc., its real power is its capability to connect to the Internet, receive and send e-mail and use instant messaging.
